Jigsaw learning model improves student math skills

A study conducted at Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh examines the effectiveness of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model combined with peer tutoring strategies to improve mathematical problem-solving skills among junior high school students.

Using a quasi-experimental approach at MTsN 6 Pidie, the research compared an experimental group using the Jigsaw and peer tutoring method against a control group receiving conventional instruction. The results indicated a significant increase in mathematical problem-solving abilities for students in the experimental group when learning about linear equation systems.
