Jihlava police arrest repeat offender for series of thefts

A 35-year-old man has been placed in custody following a series of thefts and break-ins in Jihlava. The most recent incident occurred on August 19, when the individual stole a Lego set valued at nearly 1,500 CZK from a store on Chlumova Street.

Police reports indicate the suspect was also involved in seven attempted break-ins at apartment buildings throughout June and July, as well as a theft at a gas station. The burglaries caused property damage to entrance doors ranging from several hundred to over 10,000 CZK. The man, a repeat offender who was released from prison in March, has confessed to the crimes and faces up to two years in prison.
