Jim Ross reports severe headaches and new kidney health concerns
Commentator Jim Ross has shared updates regarding ongoing health complications following brain shunt surgery. The 74-year-old Hall of Famer reported experiencing debilitating, “blistering headaches” that frequently wake him in the middle of the night. While the surgical wound on his skull is healing as expected, the shunt—designed to drain excess fluid to relieve pressure—has already required three adjustments without successfully alleviating the pain.
In addition to the neurological issues, Ross revealed that doctors are investigating a spot discovered on his kidney. He is scheduled to see a specialist in Oklahoma City to determine if the spot is cancerous. Ross noted that the combination of sleep deprivation from the headaches and the ongoing medical investigations has made for a stressful period. He expressed a desire to return to his part-time commentary role with AEW once his health stabilizes.
