Jim Ross Schedules August Brain Surgery to Drain Fluid

WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator Jim Ross, 74, announced that a shunt procedure to drain excess fluid from his brain has been scheduled for August. The surgery aims to improve the memory and balance problems that have caused several recent falls. Ross spent more than a month in the hospital before returning home, and he said he is “getting better every day.” After the operation, he expects a short hospital stay before returning home to continue recovery.

The timing coincides with the expiration of Ross’s AEW contract in August, for which no extension has been announced. He is still slated to appear at WrestleCon in Minneapolis from July 31 to August 2 before the surgery.
