Jimbocho to host Books and Jazz day & night event in Tokyo

The “Jimbocho Books and Jazz day & night” event is scheduled to take place on November 7, 2026, across six venues in the Jimbocho area of Chiyoda, Tokyo. Organized by the Jimbocho Books and Music Resonant Council, the event aims to connect the literary culture of the famous bookstore district with music.

The program is divided into two parts. “Jazz day,” running from 11:00 to 16:30, features performances by local school brass bands, big bands, and community groups at the Jimbocho Mitsui Building outdoor stage. This segment also includes jazz record and CD sales in cooperation with Disk Union and a specialized musical picture book session for children at Book House Café.

“Jazz night,” held from 17:30 to 20:00, features professional musicians performing at various bookstores and cafes. Scheduled performances include a double bass duo at Kissa Chiso, a piano trio session at Book House Café, and vocal and guitar performances at other local venues. Most of the event is free to attend, though specific programs require a fee and prior reservation.
