Jimmy Butler updates injury recovery status amid Warriors trade rumors

Jimmy Butler is making progress in his recovery from a torn right ACL sustained in January 2026. The 37-year-old star has begun running and jogging, though he has declined to provide a specific target date for his return to NBA competition. Butler stated he does not want to provide false hope to fans, noting, “As far as a target date goes, I wouldn't want to be a liar, so I don't tell anybody a target date.”

Despite the injury, the Golden State Warriors have shown little interest in trading Butler. Reports indicate the team declined to include him in potential deals for players such as Jaylen Brown or Anthony Davis this summer. The Warriors appear to be betting on Butler’s eventual return, even as the team faces roster challenges due to his absence and other injuries.
