JinkoSolar and Canadian Solar unveil high‑efficiency TOPCon modules and expand storage projects

Canadian Solar announced its third‑generation TOPCon solar modules capable of about 670 W output and a record 24.8 % module efficiency. The company plans large‑scale deliveries starting August 2026 after reporting 1.9 GW of module sales in the first quarter of 2026. It also highlighted its energy‑storage business, noting cumulative global deliveries of roughly 20 GWh and the launch of its first storage project in Italy, supported by a 3 GWh battery‑cell production line in Dafeng, Yancheng.

JinkoSolar reported having over 40 GW of TOPCon 3.0 production capacity, meeting Level 1 efficiency standards, while module prices have stabilised around €0.12‑0.13/W. The company cited a third year of market consolidation, weaker demand in China and Europe, and pressure from raw‑material costs, but emphasized its push into integrated energy‑solution offerings and storage expansion. Vice‑President Frank Niendorf projected renewed momentum from 2028, driven by electrification and data‑center investment, and marked the firm’s 20‑year anniversary as a global clean‑energy leader serving more than 200 markets.
