Reliance Jio reintroduces Jio Prime with one-year tariff guarantee
Reliance Jio has reintroduced its Jio Prime membership to mark 10 years of operations in India. For a one-time fee of ₹300, eligible prepaid and postpaid customers can secure a tariff price guarantee on their preferred plans until September 5, 2027. This membership aims to protect users from potential mobile plan price increases during the guarantee period.
In addition to the price lock, members receive ₹600 in cashback vouchers—₹300 redeemable for new JioHome or JioPC connections and ₹300 for adding a new Jio SIM for family or friends. Other benefits include priority customer support and early access to new Jio products and services.
Industry analysts suggest this move may signal upcoming tariff hikes across the Indian telecom sector, potentially increasing pressure on competitors like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. While Jio maintains its current entry-level plans, such as the ₹299 option, the membership provides a mechanism for users to lock in existing rates. Other providers continue to offer various value plans, such as Vodafone Idea’s ₹675 plan in Rajasthan and Jio’s budget-friendly options under ₹200.
