J&K PDP calls for Amarnath Yatra bridge‑building and early Muharram preparations

People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti urged Kashmiris to use the upcoming Amarnath Yatra as a way to foster national harmony, saying “It is not possible for Kashmiris to come out of this unless and until their hearts meet with the rest of the country.” She appealed for tourism‑based outreach, reduced reliance on security forces and greater hospitality toward yatris.

PDP General Secretary Mohammad Khurshid Alam called on the administration to begin comprehensive preparations for Muharram‑ul‑Haram, stressing the need for reliable water, electricity, street lighting, road repairs and medical support at congregation sites. He said the government must ensure “all departments function in mission mode so devotees are able to observe the occasion with dignity and without inconvenience.” Both statements reflect the party's push for civic improvements and communal engagement in Jammu & Kashmir.
