JKMax recalls 195,000 heated blankets due to fire and burn risks

JKMax has announced a recall of approximately 195,000 heated blankets and heating pads sold on Amazon due to fire and burn hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the internal wire heating elements in these products can overheat, causing them to smoke, melt, or burn.

According to the CPSC, there have been 577 reports of the products smoking, melting, or burning, which includes 53 reported burn injuries. The recalled items were manufactured in China and sold on Amazon between September 2022 and July 2026.

The recall includes six specific model numbers: JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B, JKMAX-8490B, and JKMAX-6284B. The products are made of polyester fabric and were sold in various colors, including blue, gray, brown, and red, and included a detachable white remote control. Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and contact JKMax for a full refund.
