JKMax heated blanket product recall

Overview

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and JKMax have issued a recall for approximately 195,000 heated blankets and heating pads sold on Amazon.com between September 2022 and July 2026.

The recall was prompted by reports that internal heating elements can overheat, causing products to smoke, melt, or burn. There have been 577 reported incidents of smoking, melting, or burning, including 53 reported burn injuries.

The affected polyester products, which were manufactured in China, include several model numbers: JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B, and JKMAX-8490B. They were sold in various colors and included a detachable white remote control. Consumers are advised to stop using the items immediately and contact JKMax for a full refund.
