Joan Mir to return to MotoGP competition in Malaysia

MotoGP rider Joan Mir has confirmed his return to competition at the upcoming Malaysian Grand Prix. The 2020 World Champion has been sidelined for approximately two months following health concerns.

After participating in the Sprint race in Misano, Mir reported feeling unwell and sought medical consultation. Subsequent medical tests revealed abnormal values, leading to a recommendation for rest. This resulted in his absence from the Austrian, Japanese, Malaysian, and Australian Grand Prix events, with Takaaki Nakagami filling in during his absence.

Mir announced his return via social media, sharing footage of himself training on a dirt track with the message, “See you in Malaysia.” His return to the Sepang circuit follows a period of recovery and will mark his first competitive appearance after his extended medical leave.
