Joaquín Levinton accused of sexual abuse and threats

Joaquín Levinton, leader of the band Turf, is facing a judicial investigation in Buenos Aires following a complaint of sexual abuse with carnal access and threats. The complainant, a 39-year-old woman, alleges that during an informal relationship between 2015 and 2020, she was subjected to physical and psychological violence, forced to consume cocaine, and coerced into non-consensual sexual acts. She further claims that Levinton recorded these encounters on video without her consent and, in one instance, physically assaulted her by grabbing her neck to prevent her from leaving.

The case is being handled by Judge Carlos Bruniard in Court No. 50. The complainant noted that she decided to pursue the case again after recently discovering audiovisual files from that period. She had previously filed a similar complaint in 2022/2023, which was ultimately archived after she did not ratify the charges or attend required proceedings.

Levinton has categorically denied all allegations through social media and legal representatives. He claims the complainant has been harassing him for years, including sending inappropriate messages and appearing at his home. He emphasized that their relationship was brief and circumstantial, not a formal partnership. The band Turf also issued a statement supporting Levinton, noting that the previous legal matter was closed and that the complainant had previously apologized to him.
