Johann Zarco returns to training despite severe knee injury

A month after his dramatic crash at the Catalonia Grand Prix, French MotoGP rider Johann Zarco confirmed he has resumed physical training while awaiting knee surgery. The accident left him with torn anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments, a medial meniscus injury, a small fibula fracture and a burn that raises the risk of infection, prompting doctors to postpone the operation.

Zarco posted videos showing him doing strength work and cycling on a stationary bike, often accompanied by his father, and sharing moments of playing guitar with his family. He said the pre‑surgery training will aid his recovery and that he will continue to wait until the infection risk is cleared before the operation. In his absence, Cal Crutchlow remains on the LCR bike until the Dutch Grand Prix.

Zarco emphasized that while he misses his team, bike and the sport, the ongoing rehab keeps him engaged and optimistic about a full return in the coming months.
