Blauer Panther media awards held in Munich
The fifth annual Blauer Panther media awards took place at the BMW Welt in Munich, honoring various television and streaming achievements. Johannes B. Kerner received the honorary award from Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder, who described him as ‘our Mr. TV’. During the event, Kerner expressed his strong support for Munich hosting future Olympic Games, noting that such an event can serve as ‘glue for an entire society’.
Several award recipients used their platform to deliver political messages. Actor Johannes Hegemann, winner of Best Actor for his role in the ZDF film ‘Olivia’, called for a ‘clear distinction from the AfD’ and urged a commitment to protecting minorities. Streamer Marcant, named most popular social media personality, was also recognized for his work engaging with right-wing demonstrators. Additionally, actor Jonathan Berlin delivered a laudatory speech describing the current era as ‘dark times’, emphasizing the importance of defending human rights and democracy.
