President Abinader honors Miss World 2026 Joheirry Mola

President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña received Joheirry Mola at the National Palace to honor her historic victory as Miss World 2026. Mola, a 24-year-old teacher and communicator, secured the title in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on September 5, becoming the second Dominican woman to win the crown, 44 years after Mariasela Álvarez in 1982.

In recognition of her civic spirit and representation of the country, Abinader awarded Mola the Presidential Medal of Civil Merit. During her pageant journey, Mola advocated for education and the importance of teaching English to children to expand their future opportunities.

Following her coronation, Mola has engaged in various media events to discuss her experience and the 'Beauty with a Purpose' program. The Miss World Dominican Republic organization also confirmed that the official pageant date will be October 31 at the Barceló Bávaro Palace.
