Overview

Following her victory in Nha Trang, Vietnam, Joheirry Mola, the newly crowned Miss World 2026, returned to the Dominican Republic on Saturday, September 26. In recognition of her historic victory and civic spirit, Mola was received at the National Palace by President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña, where she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Civil Merit. The 24-year-old teacher and communicator has since been engaging with the media regarding her ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ platform, specifically her advocacy for education and teaching English to children to expand future opportunities.

Beyond the presidential honors, Mola has received official recognition from the Senate of the Dominican Republic and the Santiago City Council for bringing international prestige to the country.

Looking ahead, the Miss World Dominican Republic pageant is set for October 31 at the Barceló Bavaro Palace. Additionally, Talisa Justiniano is preparing to represent the country at the Miss Teen Universe 2026 competition in Cambodia from October 19 to 26. Justiniano, a model, actress, and pianist, is currently participating in ‘People’s Choice’ voting to secure a direct pass to the Top 14.
