John Deere unveils high-power 8R 540 tractor ahead of Agro Show 2026

John Deere has announced new machinery developments ahead of Agro Show 2026, highlighted by the introduction of the 8R 540 tractor. This model features a six-cylinder JD14 engine with a capacity of nearly 14 liters, capable of reaching up to 634 HP through an intelligent power management system.

The 8R 540 utilizes the eAutoPowr continuously variable transmission, which internal testing suggests provides smoother acceleration and 8% better power transfer compared to standard hydromechanical transmissions. Additional updates include a self-centering steering system with adjustable resistance and an independent front axle suspension (ILS).

Furthermore, the John Deere 6M series has been updated with the e19 full powershift transmission, which offers 19 gears that can be shifted under load based on PowrQuad technology.
