John Paul II Foundation celebrates 45th anniversary in Rome

The Vatican-based John Paul II Foundation is celebrating its 45th anniversary in Rome with a series of events focused on the legacy of Pope John Paul II and the future of the organization. During a symposium held at the Holy Cross University, Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś highlighted the deep connection between Karol Wojtyła’s teachings and the Second Vatican Council, noting that the late Pope was both a participant in and a product of the Council.

Discussions emphasized the importance of the Council's teachings on the role of Mary and the central importance of the human person within the Church. Theologians noted that Wojtyła sought to modernize how the Gospel is communicated to ensure it remains relevant to contemporary society.

Looking forward, the Foundation announced plans to expand its impact through new international initiatives. These include broadening scholarship programs to more countries and universities, developing projects related to Christian culture, art, and science, and establishing an international summer university in Rome for students from around the world.
