John Paul II Vatican Foundation anniversary

Overview

The John Paul II Vatican Foundation is marking its 45th anniversary. The organization, established by Pope John Paul II in 1981, aims to preserve the legacy of the Polish pope and apply his teachings to modern global and existential conflicts.

Commemorative events in Rome included a symposium at Holy Cross University where Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś discussed the connection between Karol Wojtyła’s teachings and the Second Vatican Council. Discussions focused on the central importance of the human person and the modernization of Gospel communication.

To expand its future impact, the Foundation announced several international initiatives, including the development of projects involving Christian culture, art, and science, the broadening of scholarship programs, and the establishment of an international summer university in Rome.
