Johnny Depp stars in Ti West’s gothic ‘Ebenezer’
Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for ‘Ebenezer’, a dark and gothic reimagining of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’. Directed by Ti West, known for his horror films like ‘X’ and ‘Pearl’, the production marks a significant return to major Hollywood studio films for Johnny Depp, who stars as Ebenezer Scrooge.
The film is being marketed with the tagline, “The name you know, the story you don’t,” emphasizing a shift toward the supernatural horror elements of the original tale. The trailer showcases Depp in heavy character makeup, facing terrifying ghosts and a more sinister atmosphere than traditional holiday adaptations.
The ensemble cast includes Ian McKellen as Jacob Marley, Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Daisy Ridley, Sam Claflin, and Charlie Murphy. ‘Ebenezer’ is scheduled for a theatrical release in November 2026.
