Johor state election: PAS cautions UMNO while BN chief urges voters to avoid past mistakes

Johor PAS chief Mahfodz Mohamed warned UMNO leaders not to act arrogantly after the party pledged to back Barisan Nasional (BN) if it fails to secure a simple majority in the upcoming state election. He said PAS would adopt a measured approach, seek stability and not demand any positions or rewards, stating, “Hence, Johor Umno leaders should not respond in such an arrogant way to our sincere offer.”

Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi appealed to voters to avoid repeating the 2018 disappointment, urging them to base their choice on facts rather than empty promises. He highlighted BN’s record of investment, economic growth and welfare programmes, and called for unity among Johor’s diverse communities. Both leaders emphasized the importance of political stability ahead of the 16th Johor state election on Saturday.
