Joint Awami Action Committee demands rights in Pakistan‑occupied Kashmir

The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) reiterated its commitment to a rights struggle in Pakistan‑occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), posting its Charter of Demands on X and accusing the PoJK administration and the Government of Pakistan of using force against peaceful protesters.

The charter calls for the abolition of privileges enjoyed by the ruling elite, removal of assembly seats reserved for Pakistan‑based refugees, provision of free healthcare and uniform education, construction of an international airport, and an end to employment quotas for refugees. JAAC alleges that dozens of supporters have been killed, hundreds injured and many are missing, with injured persons not receiving adequate medical care. The committee maintains the movement is entirely peaceful and will continue its campaign without compromising on non‑violence.

JAAC quoted its statement: “This is our Charter of Demands, which has been recognised by the Government of Pakistan and the Government of PoJK… We remain peaceful, we will obtain our rights by remaining peaceful, and on this, we will not compromise.”
