The movement’s international dimension remains active through the Kashmiri diaspora. In Bradford, UK, a sit-in protest outside the Pakistani Consulate has reached 85 consecutive days, with demonstrators indicating the campaign could continue for another year or two. Led by Mahmood Kashmiri, chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir National Independence Alliance (JKNIA), protesters are demanding international oversight of elections and an end to alleged abuses by security forces, including killings and kidnappings.
