Jon Ossoff faces Mike Collins in pivotal Georgia Senate race

The Georgia U.S. Senate race between incumbent Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Mike Collins has become a focal point for determining potential control of the Senate. While a Fox News poll places Ossoff 13 points ahead of Collins, RealClear Polling describes the contest as a “toss-up,” with Ossoff maintaining an average lead of 7.6 points.

Republican candidate Mike Collins has intensified attacks on Ossoff, accusing him of endorsing “extremist” candidates and being complicit in the rise of socialism within the Democratic Party. Collins specifically criticized Ossoff for endorsing Michigan Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed.

Ossoff also faces criticism regarding his stance on Israel. Michael Morris of the Atlanta Jewish Times published an open letter accusing the senator of providing only “rhetorical” support for Israel while voting against tangible military and financial assistance. These controversies emerge as Ossoff seeks reelection in a state won by Donald Trump in 2024, amid speculation regarding his future political ambitions.
