Jonas Gahr Støre appoints new press chiefs at Prime Minister's Office
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre is restructuring his communications team at the Prime Minister's Office (SMK). Kristoffer Thoner is stepping down from his role as State Secretary and press spokesperson after nearly four years in the position.
Thoner will be replaced by two successors: Per Anders Torvik Langerød and Bhanuja Rasiah. Langerød, who previously served as press chief for the Labor Party's parliamentary group under deputy leader Tonje Brenna, will take on the role of State Secretary at SMK. Bhanuja Rasiah, who is currently a State Secretary at SMK and has previously worked with Jan Christian Vestre, will assume overall responsibility for communication work.
The reshuffle comes amid internal discussions within the Labor Party regarding potential future leadership changes.
