Jonas Vingegaard ends cycling season due to injury

Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard will not compete for the remainder of the season due to ongoing complications from a broken collarbone sustained during the Tour de France. The two-time Tour winner has been struggling with persistent shoulder pain following a crash during the fifteenth stage of the race.

Visma | Lease a Bike performance chief Mathieu Heijboer stated that the decision was made because it is unlikely Vingegaard could return to a competitive level capable of winning races this year. The team has decided to focus entirely on his recovery and preparation for the next season.

As a result of the injury, Vingegaard will miss upcoming events, including the World Championships in Montreal. Team management indicated that energy will now be directed toward building a training program for the upcoming year.
