Jonathan Andic's Ecuador trip under investigation in Mango founder's death case

Authorities are investigating a brief trip to Quito, Ecuador, taken by Jonathan Andic, the son of Mango founder Isak Andic, as a potential key element in the investigation into his father's death.

Isak Andic died in December 2024 after falling from a cliff while hiking in Spain. Judge Raquel Nieto has identified several indicators pointing to Jonathan Andic as a possible suspect in a homicide investigation. One major point of scrutiny is an iPhone 14 that Jonathan was carrying on the day of his father's death, which he claims was stolen during a 48-hour trip to Quito in March 2025.

Police suspect the trip may have been an attempt to dispose of the device to eliminate potentially compromising messages. However, the defense maintains that the phone was stolen and that the trip was for an editorial project. The judge has ordered the Mossos d’Esquadra to produce a detailed report on the trip, including an analysis of expenses and calls made during the stay in Ecuador.
