Jonathan Lipnicki takes adult role in A24 thriller Primetime
Former child star Jonathan Lipnicki is returning to the spotlight in a significant adult role in the A24 psychological crime thriller, ‘Primetime’. Directed by Lance Oppenheim and starring Robert Pattinson, the film explores the ethics of televised sting operations inspired by programs like ‘To Catch a Predator’.
Lipnicki portrays a character named ‘Crazyfrog73’, an online target of a national broadcast sting operation. The role includes a full-frontal nude sequence, a decision Lipnicki described as both intimidating and a test of his artistic courage. He noted that while he had performed nudity in theater previously, the combination of the character’s dark nature and the physical exposure caused significant anxiety.
Lipnicki, known for his childhood roles in ‘Jerry Maguire’ and the ‘Stuart Little’ franchise, has since focused on independent film and theater. He currently resides in Oklahoma, where he teaches acting and produces independent projects.
