João Monlevade educators hold training to combat racism in schools

In João Monlevade, educators from municipal institutions participated in a training session organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Education to strengthen actions against racism. The meeting focused on the Working Group for Ethnic-Racial Relations, aligned with the National Policy for Equity, Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations, and Quilombola School Education (PNEERQ).

Participants were trained on protocols for identifying and responding to racism within schools and early childhood education centers (Cemeis). The training aimed to empower coordinators and articulators to act as multipliers of these actions, improving the capacity for identification, intervention, registration, and referral of such incidents. The session included a collective study of protocols to address the daily challenges of educational units and avoid behaviors that naturalize or aggravate racial inequalities.
