João Pessoa announces new justice center and creative district

Mayor Leo Bezerra has announced two major urban and social initiatives for João Pessoa. First, the city is working to implement a House of Justice and Citizenship, scheduled to open in January. The municipal government is currently securing a property to host the service, which aims to provide legal guidance, conflict resolution, and restorative justice through a partnership involving the Paraíba Court of Justice, the Public Defender's Office, and the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Additionally, Bezerra has signed legislation to establish a Creative District within the city's Historic Center. This district, located in a delimited area including Rua da Areia and Rua Barão do Triunfo, is designed to foster the creative economy, including digital arts, design, gastronomy, and tourism. The initiative seeks to revitalize the urban space and stimulate entrepreneurship while preserving the local cultural heritage.
