Fourteen families from the São José neighborhood in João Pessoa have signed contracts to acquire new homes through the Compra Assistida program. This municipal initiative, held in partnership with Caixa, is designed to relocate families living in high-risk areas along the Jaguaribe River who are frequently affected by flooding during heavy rainfall.

Out of 250 families identified in the region, more than 60% have already benefited from the program. Under the scheme, participants select their preferred neighborhood, after which the Municipal Secretariat of Housing (Semhab) verifies the legal status of the property to authorize the purchase. The program ensures that families receive legalized and registered properties without incurring direct expenses.
