João Pessoa implements urban maintenance and digital transformation initiatives
The João Pessoa municipal administration is implementing several initiatives focused on technological modernization and urban maintenance. IT specialist Tarcísio Machado recently visited the Municipal Information Technology Unit (UMTI) to review digital transformation efforts, including fiber optic networks, data center integration, and digital public service solutions.
Simultaneously, the Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) is conducting road maintenance operations, specifically pothole repairs, across 49 neighborhoods to improve mobility and safety. Other infrastructure efforts include drainage network maintenance and public lighting upkeep.
In social services, the Secretariat of Science and Technology (Secitec-JP) is performing technical visits to 14 Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) to evaluate and repair technological equipment. Additionally, Mayor Leo Bezerra has announced new urban projects, including the construction of community plazas in the Ipês and Cruz das Armas neighborhoods and the revitalization of residential areas in Padre Zé.
