Paraíba infrastructure projects include road repairs and solar water systems

The City of João Pessoa, through its Infrastructure Secretariat (Seinfra), is conducting widespread road maintenance, including pothole repairs across 36 neighborhoods. The operation also includes drainage network cleaning, maintenance of storm drains, and public lighting repairs.

Separately, the Government of Paraíba, via the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Water Resources (Seirh), is investing R$ 60.7 million to install solar-powered water supply systems. The project has already completed 529 of approximately 1,000 planned wells in rural communities across 80 municipalities in the Sertão, Cariri, and Curimataú regions. These systems utilize photovoltaic energy to power submersible pumps, providing a more efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional water trucking or wind-powered systems.
