João Pessoa Mayor authorizes paving for 35 streets in Alto do Mateus
João Pessoa Mayor Leo Bezerra has authorized new paving works for 35 streets in the Alto do Mateus neighborhood. The project involves an investment of R$ 8.9 million to pave over 5,600 meters of roads.
The infrastructure plan includes cobblestone paving, drainage, sidewalk standardization, accessibility improvements, and signaling. This initiative aims to make Alto do Mateus 100% paved. According to the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat (Seinfra), the city has already brought paving to 47 neighborhoods since 2021, bringing the total to 60 neighborhoods with fully paved streets.
Infrastructure Secretary Rubens Falcão noted that out of 1,770 service orders issued for paving, 1,199 have been completed. In addition to roadworks, the municipal administration has also constructed three schools, a plaza, a community kitchen, and a sewing center in the Alto do Mateus area.
