João Pessoa registers 200 informal vendors for São João Multicultural 2026
The Prefeitura de João Pessoa, through the Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Urbano (Sedurb), published an official call for informal traders to apply for participation in the São João Multicultural 2026 festival, scheduled for 19‑24 June at Parque Solon de Lucena. Two hundred vendor spots are available – 70 food‑tent stalls, 40 mobile food structures, 80 ready‑made food stands and 10 food trucks. Applications can be submitted in person at the Central de Comercialização de Agricultura Familiar or online via the 1Doc platform, with required documents such as ID, residence proof, municipal tax clearance and a photo of the tent. Selected vendors must comply with safety rules, including a valid technical responsibility note and fire‑extinguisher for those using heat sources.
City‑run shopping centers are already showcasing a wide range of June‑festive clothing, accessories and décor. Vendors report strong demand, with prices ranging from R$ 20 basic children’s dresses to R$ 180 adult outfits, and heightened sales compared with the previous year. The merchandise includes traditional quadriculado shirts, hats, laces and promotional items tied to both the São João celebrations and the World Cup.
