João Pessoa transport agency urges school bus operators to meet July inspection deadline

The Superintendência Executiva de Mobilidade Urbana of João Pessoa (Semob‑JP) began the scheduled inspection of school‑transport vehicles for the second semester of 2026 on Monday, 6 July. In the first week, 50 of the 100 authorized operators presented their buses for the mandatory check at the agency’s headquarters on km 25 of BR‑230 in the Cristo Redentor neighbourhood.

Of those, 35 vehicles satisfied all regulatory requirements and received a grey certification seal; the remaining 15 were rejected and must correct the deficiencies and undergo a new inspection. Inspections will continue through 31 July, running each weekday from 08:00 to 13:00. Leonardo Campos, head of the Special Transport Section, warned that late inspections incur a fine of R$ 40.40.
