Jordan Bardella moved to deputy role after court clears Marine Le Pen for 2027 French presidential race

A Paris court of appeal ruled that Marine Le Pen is eligible to run in the 2027 French presidential election, overturning previous disqualification concerns. The Rassemblement National quickly shifted its strategy, placing Le Pen at the forefront of the campaign while Jordan Bardella, who had been preparing to be the party’s presidential candidate, was reassigned to the number‑two position.

The party’s campaign materials, website and slogan “Pour la France, la Renaissance” had been ready, but were put on hold as Le Pen announced an appeal to the Court of Cassation. RN officials described the decision as sudden, noting that Bardella will continue to support the campaign but will not lead it.
