Jorge Enrique Martí centenary celebrated in Entre Ríos

The cities of Concepción del Uruguay and Colón, along with several other locations in Entre Ríos, are hosting a series of cultural activities to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Jorge Enrique Martí. The writer, journalist, and cultural manager is being honored through the ‘Centenary Week,’ which runs from September 8 to 14.

In Colón, the tribute included the municipal declaration of interest for the centenary programming and an ordinance naming a section of the Camino Costero Norte after Martí. His family participated in the event, highlighting their ongoing efforts to preserve his literary and material heritage, including the cataloging of manuscripts and unpublished poems.

In Concepción del Uruguay, the agenda includes conferences on Martí’s poetry and journalism, the premiere of a documentary titled ‘Martí, escritor entrerriano,’ and various academic presentations at the National University of Entre Ríos (UNER). The celebrations also extend to the towns of Pueblo Liebig, San José, and Villa Elisa.
