Jorge Luis Borges honored with new documentary at Venice and a compiled conference book

A five‑hour documentary titled Biografía de Jorge Luis Borges, directed by Mariano Llinás, will premiere out of competition in the non‑fiction section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The film traces Borges’s life from his Buenos Aires childhood to his global literary legacy using archival material, interviews and expert analysis, marking the 40th anniversary of his death.

Separately, Alfaguara will publish Conferencias reunidas 1960‑1985 in 2026, a volume compiled by Sara Luisa del Carril that brings together Borges’s lectures from those years. The book is part of the Narrative Hispanic Library series dedicated to the Argentine writer.

Both releases reflect renewed interest in Borges’s work across film and publishing.
