José Antonio Neme faces lawsuit following motorcycle accident

A criminal complaint has been filed against Chilean journalist and television host José Antonio Neme following a traffic accident in Las Condes. The legal action, filed in the Fourth Guarantee Court of Santiago, seeks charges for quasi-delict of serious injuries and quasi-delict involving a motor vehicle.

The incident occurred on August 7, when Neme’s vehicle struck a motorcyclist at the intersection of Alonso de Córdova and Los Militares. Neme previously admitted responsibility for the accident, stating he did not see the motorcycle and attributed the collision to a lapse in attention. While Neme offered to cover medical expenses and provided assistance immediately following the crash, the victim's family has opted to pursue formal legal proceedings through a representative to manage indemnities and reparations.

Neme confirmed that the victim has been discharged from the clinic and that the legal process is moving forward. He noted that insurance companies are involved and that he is working with his own legal team to resolve the matter.
