José María Aznar calls for national majority to remove Pedro Sánchez
Former Spanish prime minister José María Aznar urged the creation of a "broad, centrist national majority" ahead of the next general election, saying it must be capable of ousting President Pedro Sánchez and preventing what he described as a "change of system." Aznar argued the upcoming vote will be "the most important of the recent democratic history" because it concerns "the survival of the constitutional nation and equality before the law." He criticised Sánchez’s government as a "voluntary hostage of its partners" and warned that Spain is being turned into "a Madrid delegation of secessionism." Aznar called on People's Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo to build an alliance that can "tear down and surpass the wall" represented by the current administration.
