Joshua Kerry charged with terror plot targeting Nigel Farage
Joshua Kerry, 28, has appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court facing charges for the preparation of terrorist acts. The charges relate to alleged activities occurring between May 2024 and July 2026, which included conducting online reconnaissance on prominent individuals and institutions, specifically identifying the home address of Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
Prosecutors allege that Kerry traveled to Farage’s home in April last year, where investigators found damage to the front door and a bottle of lighter fluid in the porch, suggesting an attempt to gain entry. This follows the reopening of a counter-terrorism investigation into a previous incident at Farage’s residence.
Kerry is also the primary suspect accused of the murder of veteran British politician Ann Widdecombe. Widdecombe was killed at her home in Devon in July after being struck with a hammer. The legal proceedings link the alleged terror plot to the same individual accused of the fatal attack on the former minister.
