Josip Škorić indicted for bribery in Hrvatske ceste corruption case
The Croatian anti-corruption agency, USKOK, has filed an indictment against Josip Škorić, the former chairman of the board of Hrvatske ceste (Hrvatske ceste). Škorić is accused of accepting bribes between June 2022 and May 2024. The indictment alleges he reached corrupt agreements with business leaders to facilitate public procurement processes for road construction works in exchange for material rewards.
Separately, legal proceedings involving former judges Darko Krušlin, Ante Kvesić, and Zvonko Vekić have faced delays. Krušlin, involved in the case regarding the bribery of Osijek judges, has requested the exclusion of the judicial council and the president of the Zagreb County Court. He argues that certain evidence, including a secret council minute from the trial of Zdravko Mamić, was obtained illegally.
Additionally, reports highlight ongoing scrutiny regarding the misuse of public funds by political figures, including discussions surrounding the conduct of MEP Romana Jerković Kraljić and ACI board member Ivan Herak.
