Jovanotti visits L'Aquila to tour restored Teatro San Filippo
Musician Lorenzo Cherubini, known as Jovanotti, visited L'Aquila during his bicycle tour to visit the Teatro San Filippo. The theater has recently been returned to the city 17 years after the 2009 earthquake and is now managed by the Teatro Stabile d'Abruzzo.
The visit holds significant historical weight, as Jovanotti was a promoter of the ‘Artisti Uniti per l'Abruzzo’ project following the earthquake. Proceeds from the initiative, including the song ‘Domani’, directly funded the restoration and recovery of the Teatro San Filippo.
To mark the occasion, the Municipality of L'Aquila presented the artist with the ‘aquilotto’, the official mascot of L'Aquila as the Italian Capital of Culture 2026. Mayor Pierluigi Biondi expressed the community's gratitude, noting that the visit symbolizes a story of rebirth and concrete solidarity.
