Jesse & Joy duo enters hiatus as Jesse Huerta announces solo project

Jesse Huerta has announced a hiatus from the musical duo Jesse & Joy to prioritize his mental health, family, and personal well-being. While Jesse will fulfill all scheduled commitments through December 5, 2026, he will not participate in the duo's upcoming performance at the Auditorio Nacional on December 6.

Joy Huerta addressed the news during an emotional press conference, revealing she learned of the decision only 20 minutes before it was made public. Despite her visible distress and uncertainty regarding the future of the 21-year-old project, Joy confirmed she will continue performing under the Jesse & Joy name, honoring their shared history and existing commitments through 2027.

Simultaneously, Jesse has introduced a new musical project titled ‘Jesse and the Supernovas,’ a pop-rock concept in English. He clarified that this solo endeavor was planned months in advance and is independent of the decision to pause his work with his sister, rather than a direct consequence of it.
