Jozefin Marku arrested for assault of Kosovar citizen

Albanian police have arrested singer Jozefin Marku and Kristian Nikolli following a violent assault on 26-year-old Kosovar Eduart Kuçi. The incident, which was filmed and went viral on social media, reportedly took place near the Rinas airport interchange on the Tirana-Durrës highway.

Investigators state the conflict stemmed from social media insults directed at Marku. During the confrontation, a group of individuals, some reportedly wearing masks and police-style clothing, intercepted Kuçi. Video footage shows the physical altercation, including a moment where Kuçi is seen on his knees.

Marku faces multiple criminal charges, including unlawful deprivation of liberty, minor bodily injury, threats, and illegal possession of a uniform. Nikolli, suspected of driving the Land Rover used in the incident, is charged with aiding a criminal and illegal possession of ammunition. Two other suspects, Anton Huli and Kevin Vuthaj, remain at large. The Peja Basic Prosecution in Kosovo has also opened a criminal case regarding the incident.
