JR East resumes service on parts of Narita and Uchibo lines after Typhoon 25
JR East has announced the resumption of train services on several sections of its lines following damage caused by Typhoon 25.
On the JR Narita Line, service between Sahara Station and Choshi Station is scheduled to resume starting from the first train on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
On the JR Uchibo Line in Chiba Prefecture, service between Nagaura and Kisarazu stations resumed on October 5. This restoration occurred sooner than the previously estimated three-month recovery period, facilitated by the installation of necessary switching equipment at Nagaura Station. However, due to ongoing landslides, the section between Nagaura and Anegasaki remains suspended, with replacement bus services commencing on October 5. Other sections in Chiba Prefecture also remain out of service as JR East continues recovery efforts.
