Jürgen Klopp appointed as German national team head coach

The German Football Association (DFB) has officially appointed Jürgen Klopp as the new head coach of the German national team. Klopp, 59, is scheduled to begin his role on August 15, following a period of poor performance by the squad at the World Cup.

Klopp has assembled a coaching staff that includes Pepijn Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, Sven Bender, and Marc Kosicke, who will hold the newly created position of Strategy, Development and Innovation. His tactical approach is expected to emphasize high intensity and "Gegenpressing."

In support of the appointment, VfB Stuttgart board member Alexander Wehrle, who also chairs the DFB supervisory board, described Klopp as the "ideal solution" for the national team's goals. While discussing future coaching possibilities, Wehrle noted that Stuttgart's Sebastian Hoeneß could eventually be a candidate for the position in the years to come, though current focus remains on Klopp's leadership.
