JSW MG Motor India prepares new electrified Hector SUV

JSW MG Motor India is preparing to launch a new electrified SUV in the Indian market, potentially named the MG Hector Hawk or MG Hector Tomahawk. The upcoming model is expected to feature both plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains, marking a shift from the current Hector's conventional petrol engine.

The vehicle is based on the Wuling Starlight 560 architecture and will utilize MG’s new ADAPT architecture designed specifically for new-energy powertrains. The SUV is expected to offer a longer wheelbase of 2,810mm, which may provide increased cabin space compared to existing models.

Recent teasers from the company have featured imagery of a Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk fighter aircraft, coinciding with the company's recent trademarking of the name ‘Hector Tomahawk’ in India. Design elements revealed include pixel-style LED lighting and a charging port integrated into the front fender.
